FAQ

Because sometimes you have questions - and that’s OK!

Mental Fitness - What is it?

A little like looking after our physical fitness, Mental Fitness is an investment in your wellbeing, a  learning way to look after your mental health. It’s the workout that you do to keep you mentally and emotionally in shape; mind fit and happy.

Simple everyday strategies can nourish and strengthen you so that you can thrive in spite of any curveballs that life might throw your way. Helpful habits can develop into positive routines. Mental fitness is the workout that you can do enabling you to build a bridge between your current mental health and your potential for mental wealth.

What is the Mental Fitness Kitbag™

Life is tough and you can be too! The Mental Fitness Kitbag™ and the tools within are simply a metaphor for how we can develop our resilience, boost our resourcefulness and create solutions to the challenges of everyday life.

With support, guidance and direction, each of us has the potential to deal with adversity, equip ourselves with tools to nurture our wellbeing, and have the ability to adapt, improvise and overcome.

Can we speak before we start coaching?

Absolutely! Book a virtual 20-minute DISCOVERY call via Zoom to discuss your needs and how I can best help you. This way you get to experience a taste of the kind of coaching can offer and check that we are a good fit.

How do we begin coaching?

We offer a variety of services including 1:1, Group and Team coaching via Zoom, along with in-person outdoor coaching Adventure experiences. Once you’ve booked a virtual 20-minute DISCOVERY call via Zoom to discuss your needs, I will prescribe the most suitable approach to boost your wellbeing and build your Mental Fitness Kitbag.

What happens during a one to one coaching session?

Coaching is a conversation with a purpose. It creates space for you to get clear about what you want to change or create in your life. A place to get to the heart of any issues holding you back. Working together we will help you to gain focus, clarity, and create a plan.

We begin by identifying your goal and understanding the sort of coaching approach and experience that will benefit you.

Session 1 uses the mental fitness rating tool to obtain a baseline score and we identify areas of strength, weak spots and an action plan to support you.

Sessions 2,3 and 4 enable you to discover and utilise tools and techniques to tackle any obstacles holding you back (including yourself), then support you while you put coping strategies into practice in your life.

Session 5 and 6 enable an evaluation of your progress, the creation of a mental fitness pocket guide and support to map out your journey going forward.

Alternatively, we can work flexibly with you bringing themes that you would like each session to address.

How many sessions will I need?

In my experience, 6 sessions are optimum to help people sustain change that they make. Clients often choose to repeat the coaching process more than once. This way we can work together for as long as is helpful to you.
I recommend weekly or fortnightly sessions to get things started and make a positive impact. I love that coaching enables you to develop the tools to move things forward once our work is done.

What are your payment conditions?

Following your virtual 20-minute DISCOVERY call, if you choose to work with me, I will send you a coaching agreement to sign electronically and the payment link. Once this has been signed and returned, and payment made, we can begin working together.

I will invoice you at the end of each month.

Contact me if you would like to discuss a pricing plan.

I also offer gift vouchers.

Do you have coaching qualifications?

I am a PCC certified coach and I trained with the Institute for Professional Excellence in Coaching (IPEC). I am also a PCC coach, with gold standard accreditation in coaching with the International Coaching Federation (ICF).  I am an energy leadership master practitioner.

In addition, if you are interested, I have an honours degree in Occupational Therapy and 25 years of experience working in mental health services for the NHS. Mental Fitness - What is it?
