ARE YOU SITTING ON A 3-LEGGED STOOL?
How are you feeling? Are you feeling as resilient as you would like?
Ever wonder why at times when you feel less resilient and with worries on your mind you can feel like you are ‘having a wobble’?
We are all like 3-legged stools - when one leg gets compromised it can create a literal wobble.
MY OWN 3-LEGGED STOOL
I was reflecting on this… the three legs of my stool represent:
1 - Heart 💚
My relationships with my 3 girls, my connection with my partner, my family. Their happiness is at the heart of this.
2 - Health 🏋️♀️
Training and strengthening my body. Exercise for me comes in many forms and it keeps me physically and equally mentally fit. If it’s not swimming or biking, it’s running. The health of people I love is also part of this..
3 - Vocational satisfactioN 🎒 🎒🎒🎒🎒🎒️♀️ 🎒𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗗𝗬! 🎒
My purpose. Doing the work that I was out here to do, being a catalyst for change in others. Helping them to uncover their resourcefulness and utilise their strengths to help them overcome all sorts of difficulties.
I wonder if this resonates with you?
What constitutes the ‘legs’ of your 3-legged stool, and how can you strengthen it so that it’s robust and able to support you?
Maybe you could explore these as a journalling exercise or a mood board. Once you’ve identified your three ‘legs’, whenever your resilience feels like its taken a hit, return to them and see how they can be strengthened - through talking to a trusted friend or relative, by re-organising your week to prioritise them or just reminding yourself that these things are at the core of your mental health and are to be nurtured.
